The village of Hasnal in Maharashtra's Nanded district faced an unprecedented natural disaster as floods swept through, leaving devastation in their wake. Long-time resident Ashabai Ingole recounted the horror of fleeing her home in the dead of night to escape rising waters.
The floods, triggered by excessive rainfall on Sunday and Monday, caught the village unprepared, inundating houses and prompting an Army rescue operation. Despite the dire situation, residents struggled with inadequate official support, voicing their need for government intervention.
As search and rescue efforts continue, the human toll is clear. Four missing residents have been confirmed dead, with one still unaccounted for.
