Himachal Rains Cause Havoc: Life Disrupted by Flash Floods and Landslides
Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have led to closures of educational institutions, roads, and significant damages across districts like Una, Kullu, and Mandi. Incidents of flash floods, cloudbursts, and landslides have caused panic and losses amounting to Rs 2,281 crore, along with tragic fatalities and missing persons.

Severe rainfall across Himachal Pradesh has led to widespread disruptions, with schools closed in several districts including Una, Kullu, and Mandi, authorities revealed on Wednesday. The adverse weather has prompted emergency measures following flash floods and landslides, leading to substantial damages.
Tragic incidents were reported as a pilgrim lost his life due to a shooting stone incident in Kinnaur district. While returning from the Kailash Yatra, Gaurav from Uttar Pradesh was fatally injured near Ganesh Gufa. His body was later recovered and handed to his family after post-mortem in Reckongpeo.
A wave of destruction swept through Shastri Nagar in Kullu, damaging homes and vehicles amid flash floods. The State Emergency Operation Centre reported closures of 368 roads, including significant highways. Meteorological warnings continue, as the region braces for further heavy rainfall.
