Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma initiated an environmental campaign, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,' by planting mango saplings at his residence this Monday. The event is part of the 'Seva Pakhwada' or service fortnight, commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday.
Sharma emphasized the crucial role of trees in combating pollution and promoting biodiversity. His government is dedicated to transforming Rajasthan into a greener and healthier state. This vision aligns with the ongoing 'Hariyalo Rajasthan' mission, under which 11.5 crore saplings have already been planted this year.
The mission seeks to plant 50 crore trees in the upcoming five years, with 7.5 crore saplings planted last year as part of the same initiative. Furthermore, the state is conducting public awareness programs, encompassing cleanliness drives, anti-drug efforts, and widespread tree plantations, reinforcing the 'Seva Pakhwada.'
