A leopard trapped in a well on agricultural land in Pullur was successfully rescued by the Forest Department late Sunday, officials confirmed on Monday.
The leopard, approximately 3-4 years old, fell into the well on property owned by a man named Madhu. The trapped animal was discovered around 5 pm when a malfunctioning motor pump prompted a search.
Efforts to rescue the exhausted leopard using a basket initially failed, leading to the deployment of a cage with help from Fire and Rescue Service. The animal is now under observation at a Forest Station and will be released back into the wild following medical clearance.
