In a tragic incident, two tourists from Goa were killed in a car-truck collision at Lonavala hill station, Maharashtra, early on Saturday. The tourists, part of a 14-member group visiting from Goa, were identified as Yogesh Sutar, 21, and Mayur Vengurlekar, 24, both from Mapusa.
Police reports indicate that the car, traveling at high speed, crashed head-on with a mini truck near Lion's Point. Local residents discovered the two men trapped in the severely damaged vehicle, marking a devastating start to the group's visit.
The truck driver also sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical care. The police have confirmed that the bodies will be handed over to the victims' families following a postmortem examination.
