Typically, Parbhani's minimum temperatures hover around 11 degrees Celsius during this period, but the mercury has plunged due to a combination of clear skies and the cold front. Dr. Kailas Dakhore, an agrometeorologist from Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agriculture University, emphasized the anomaly of the current cold snap.

The meteorology department recorded a significant drop in minimum temperatures from 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday to 6.6 degrees on Monday. Forecasters warn of potential further dips, with temperatures possibly descending to a cool 4 degrees Celsius by month's end or early January.
