A harrowing accident unfolded in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district, as three more bodies were pulled from a deep gorge on Sunday. This comes after a mini-truck, transporting 22 laborers from Assam, plunged into the ravine, a senior official confirmed.

Since Friday, 20 bodies have been recovered at the scene, according to State Disaster Management Secretary Dani Salu. These bodies have been returned to their families, Salu added.

The accident occurred during the evening of December 8, approximately 40 km from Hayuliang in the district. Remarkably, on the evening of December 10, a lone survivor managed to climb out of the gorge and reach a nearby Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) labor camp, subsequently alerting the authorities.

A joint search operation by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Army resumed early Sunday morning, as efforts were temporarily suspended Saturday evening due to poor visibility.
