Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took a firm stand on Tuesday against what she described as 'legacy problems' of waterlogging and pollution, asserting that her government is committed to finding tangible solutions.

During an inspection of desilting work at Sunehri Nala, Gupta criticized previous Congress and AAP administrations for neglecting pollution and drainage challenges. She called out their extended tenure in power, blaming them for compounding Delhi's issues instead of addressing them constructively.

Gupta's remarks followed a public appearance alongside star athlete Lionel Messi, where she received a mixed reception over air quality concerns. As air quality slightly improved to an AQI of 377 from 498, Gupta emphasized ongoing efforts with her team, including Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Verma, to alleviate the city's environmental problems.
