In a decisive move to address escalating pollution, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is forming an inter-departmental group aimed at enhancing coordination across various civic functions. Officials announced Friday that this action precedes the city's budget announcement.
The upcoming committee will amalgamate expertise from departments related to development, environment, and municipal services, along with engineering, horticulture, and sanitation. Supported by a financial commitment of around Rs 200 crore, the group aims to streamline operations and improve public service delivery.
Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma emphasized that this integrated approach is intended to minimize resource waste and ensure practical solutions reach citizens faster, shifting focus to cleaner and better-maintained urban environments. The strategic initiative aligns with MCD's extensive budget plan for the next fiscal period.
