A 77-year-old resident of Bhopal met a tragic demise after plunging down a vacant elevator shaft, with his body remaining undiscovered for 10 days, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on January 6 at Chinar Dream City Society, located in the Misrod area. A foul odor prompted the discovery of Pritam Giri's body on January 16, according to officials.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the negligence allegations against the housing society's maintenance team, which is accused of failing to ensure the safety of the lift and other amenities.
