Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu acknowledged a decade of unprecedented transformation in the region, attributing it to consistent central support. During the Motion of Thanks on the governor's address in the assembly, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing prolonged neglect of the Northeast post-Independence.
Khandu emphasized that infrastructure and connectivity improvements were central to recent development strides. He noted significant investments, including over Rs 3,000 crore spent under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Road Development Plan, and highlighted the Centre's Vibrant Village Programme as a crucial border-area initiative.
The Chief Minister also reported advancements in education and health sectors, as well as youth-focused initiatives like skill development. Khandu described tourism as vital for the state's future economy and underlined the need for hydropower policy amendments to benefit affected communities. The 'Cabinet Aap Ki Dwar' initiative, he stated, aids in understanding grassroots needs to design better schemes.
