Unseasonal Showers: Relief and Woes in North Karnataka

Parts of north Karnataka, including Belagavi, Dharwad, and Vijayapura, were hit by unseasonal heavy rain and hailstorms, disrupting everyday life and traffic. While the showers provided relief from the intense heat, concerns arose regarding potential crop damage. Residents experienced toppled vehicles and scattered tree branches due to gusty winds.

North Karnataka experienced heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds on Tuesday, affecting regions like Belagavi, Dharwad, and Vijayapura. In Belagavi, life was disrupted with toppled two-wheelers and scattered tree branches after rainfall struck around 3:30 pm.

Dharwad also saw a heavy downpour that briefly affected traffic, as did Hubballi, where afternoon showers cooled temperatures after a cloudy morning.

Despite relief from the heat, concerns arose over crop damage due to hail, particularly in areas like Vijayapura, featuring adverse weather in places such as Muddebihal.
