Greater Noida, March 18, 2026: Galgotias University has successfully secured a ₹42 Lakh research grant from IIT Bombay's Technology Innovation Hub for Internet of Things (TIH-IoT). The funding is aimed at developing an 'Intelligent Ripening Detector' for fruits such as mangoes and watermelons.
The Technology Development Program-funded project is spearheaded by Dr. Agniv Tapadar, an Assistant Professor at Galgotias University. This innovative research seeks to create a system that identifies ripening stages and detects artificial ripening through a sensor-based approach.
Dr. Tapadar highlighted that the project aligns with the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems and demonstrates the university's commitment to interdisciplinary innovation. This development promises to advance the intersection of agriculture and intelligent systems.
