Easter Escalation: Daytime Strikes Intensify in Ukraine

In a marked escalation, Russia's daytime strikes in Ukraine have resulted in at least two fatalities. The attacks, described by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy as an 'Easter escalation,' highlight a tactical shift aimed at overwhelming Ukrainian air defenses.

Traditionally conducted at night, Russia has been increasing daytime operations, recently deploying hundreds of drones and missiles. Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions were hit, killing two, while strikes also targeted civilian infrastructure and a veterinary clinic.

Despite Ukrainian forces shooting down a majority of the drones and missiles, damage was extensive. Poland scrambled jets in response to nearby activities, though no airspace violations were noted.
