Wildlife Heroes: Saving Mumbai's Animals in Sweating Summer
In April, the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) and forest department staff rescued 97 wildlife species from Mumbai, including numerous mammals, birds, and reptiles. These animals, which were mostly suffering from dehydration and heat stroke due to rising temperatures, are being rehabilitated for eventual release.

Amid the relentless rise in Mumbai's temperatures, an astounding 97 animals were rescued in April by the diligent efforts of the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) and the forest department.
Officials revealed that these rescued wildlife comprised mammals like Hanuman langurs and rhesus macaques, alongside birds such as flamingos and parakeets, and reptiles, including lizards and turtles. The creatures, suffering from dehydration and heat stroke, found temporary relief and care from the rescue teams.
Pawan Sharma, the dedicated Founder and President of RAWW, assured that following rehabilitation, these resilient animals will be returned to their natural habitats, preserving the ecological balance amidst climate challenges.
