In Delhi, traders are voicing concerns about the potential sealing of commercial entities in residential zones following a recent directive from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The circular aimed to survey these activities aligns with Supreme Court mandates.
A delegation led by the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) met with MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar, advocating for a postponement of any survey or sealing actions until the Master Plan 2041 is in place. Newly-elected Mayor Pravesh Wahi, however, stated there are no immediate plans for a sealing drive.
CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal communicated that traders expect the Master Plan to clearly delineate residential, commercial, and industrial zones in Delhi. Meanwhile, relief is on the horizon, as the commissioner confirmed traders will soon obtain trade licenses by paying a partial fee online.
