Tariq Anwar, a senior Congress leader, has shed light on the potential candidacy of party general secretary K C Venugopal for the Kerala Chief Ministership should the UDF triumph in upcoming Assembly polls.
Speaking from Delhi, Anwar emphasized the procedural rigor required before Venugopal, or any leader, can stake a claim to the position. He noted that the decision ultimately rests with the Congress high command, who will appoint an observer to assess the situation during a legislative party meeting.
Anwar's assertions underline confidence in a UDF victory, aligning with exit poll predictions. He clarified that if Venugopal shows interest, he must engage in due process, even without contesting in the polls.
