A devastating fire broke out at the Arghavan shopping centre in Andisheh town, near Tehran, killing eight people and leaving 36 injured, according to state television reports on Wednesday.
The fire, which began on Tuesday, incited intense efforts from firefighting teams as they battled massive plumes of black smoke billowing from the multistory building.
Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the blaze; however, current reports indicate no connection to ongoing regional conflicts, despite a fragile ceasefire with the United States holding in recent weeks.
