Westlife Foodworld, operator of McDonald's restaurants in West and South India, on Thursday reported a 56 per cent year-on-year rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 2.37 crore in the March quarter of FY26. The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.52 crore in the January-March quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations was up 8.65 per cent at Rs 655.36 crore in the March quarter of FY26. It was at Rs 603.14 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. This was ''driven by healthy guest count momentum and strong brand connect. Same Store Sales Growth (SSSG) stood at 1.5 per cent for the quarter, with momentum building progressively through the quarter,'' Westlife Foodworld said in an earnings statement. During the quarter under review, demand trends remained mixed across channels, with on-premise accounting for 58 per cent of overall sales. ''Dine-in and takeaway segments recorded 9 per cent YoY growth, driven by positive footfall trends across all three months of the quarter. ''Off-premise sales increased 6 per cent YoY, with the McDelivery platform witnessing strong growth as it continues to gain scale and salience, emerging as a key growth driver,'' it said. About the restaurant's operating margins, the company said it improved by approximately 70 basis points YoY, while operating EBITDA margin remained broadly stable at 13.3 per cent, supported by cost optimisation initiatives despite continued growth investments. ''While the business navigated near-term volatility in LPG and inflationary pressure across key commodities, supply chain efficiencies, proactive sourcing strategies and cost optimisation helped mitigate the impact,'' it said. Total expenses of Westlife Foodworld in the March quarter were up 8.34 per cent to Rs 662.80 crore. Total income, including other income, was up 7.95 per cent at Rs 661.84 crore in the March quarter. For the entire FY26, Westlife Foodworld's profit was up two-fold to Rs 32.33 crore. The total consolidated income rose 5.6 per cent to Rs 2,656.97 crore. On the network expansion front, Westlife added 21 restaurants in Q4 FY26, taking its total count to 478 across 78 cities. The company remains on track to achieve its medium-term target of 580-630 restaurants by 2027, it said. Chairperson Amit Jatia said: ''Despite ongoing external pressures, our focus on value leadership, digital engagement, and operational efficiency enabled us to sustain margins while improving guest counts.'' Shares of Westlife Foodworld Ltd on Thursday settled at Rs 502.05 on BSE, up 1.55 per cent from the previous close.
