The body of a teenage girl was found inside a government school in Jamshedpur on Saturday morning, police said. The identity of the victim, believed to be around 17 years old, is yet to be established, officer-in-charge of Parsudih police station Avinash Kumar said. The body has been sent to MGM Hospital for post-mortem examination. According to police, the operator of an anganwadi centre located on the school premises spotted the body and alerted police, following which a team rushed to the spot and recovered it. ''We have asked neighbouring police stations to verify missing person reports in their respective areas to establish the identity of the victim. Locals told us that the girl did not belong to Sopodera village,'' Kumar said. Asked whether it was a case of rape and murder, the officer said no signs of sexual assault had been detected so far, though police were probing the case from all possible angles. ''The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report is received,'' he added.
