Delhi Boosts Fire Safety: Comprehensive Overhaul for Enhanced Safety Preparedness

The Delhi government has ramped up its efforts to enhance fire safety across the capital by mandating regular audits in schools, hospitals, and night shelters. A meeting chaired by Home Minister Ashish Sood highlighted the necessity of improving emergency preparedness and modernizing firefighting equipment.
Emphasis was placed on involving Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and social organizations in raising awareness through campaigns and mock drills. Sood stressed the need for upgrading communication systems and providing advanced training for fire personnel to ensure a swift response during emergencies.
A comprehensive master plan for future firefighting strategies was discussed, recognizing Delhi's rapid urbanization. Enhanced coordination with bodies such as the Delhi Police and Municipal Corporation was also prioritized to bolster disaster management and emergency response capabilities.
