Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated the administration's commitment to strengthening Delhi's green cover as a top priority, highlighting plans to increase annual maintenance support and encourage pollution control. The proposed shift to 100% government funding, replacing the current 90:10 cost-sharing model, is expected to encourage participation from smaller local bodies facing financial challenges.

The initiative includes a consideration of one-time grants to upgrade existing parks and develop new ones, particularly in overpopulated areas with limited green spaces. The program aligns with the government's vision of 'Viksit Delhi,' emphasizing infrastructure development alongside environmental sustainability and improved quality of life.
