A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Bengaluru's Kothanur area when a fire erupted in a makeshift shed, tragically claiming the lives of two young siblings. The fire occurred on Monday while the children, aged three and five, were playing inside.
Their parents, who are daily wage workers from Raichur district, had left the children in the care of their grandmother. However, she had reportedly stepped out briefly to use the toilet when the fire broke out. Despite the swift actions of neighbors and bystanders, their efforts to rescue the children failed.
The police reported that the young boy died on the spot, while his sister succumbed on the way to the hospital due to asphyxiation from the dense smoke and burn injuries. The exact cause of the outbreak remains unknown, and an investigation is forthcoming.
