CIDCO's Bold Move: Reclaiming Navi Mumbai's Future

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has demolished 5,804 illegal structures and reclaimed 110 hectares in Navi Mumbai to pave the way for major infrastructure projects. Aligning with court directives, CIDCO is set on world-class urban development and proactively prevents re-encroachment with robust measures.

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has launched a significant crackdown on illegal constructions, demolishing 5,804 unauthorized structures and reclaiming 110 hectares of land across Navi Mumbai, including the Panvel region.

The action aims to clear the way for major infrastructure initiatives such as Aerocity, Metro, and the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA). The operation adheres to Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act provisions and follows Supreme Court and High Court directives.

CIDCO's Vice Chairman & Managing Director Vijay Singhal emphasized the importance of safeguarding public land for transformative projects like Aerocity and Medicity. In efforts to prevent re-encroachment, CIDCO employs measures such as wall compounding and prompt land auctions.
