The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has introduced a progressive work-from-home policy for one-third of its Group B and Group C employees. The move aims to cut down on unnecessary commutes, reduce fuel consumption, and encourage a digital-first administrative atmosphere, the Office of Director (Personnel) announced.

This arrangement applies to departments where it can be administratively accommodated, focusing on employees with long commutes using personal vehicles. Department heads must ensure responsibility distribution, staff availability, and service standards maintenance while keeping remote employees accessible via official channels.

Exemptions apply to essential categories such as healthcare, emergency services, and utilities staff. NDMC promotes public transport and clean commuting options, advising online meetings to reduce travel. Physical meetings at Palika Kendra will persist, with provisions for digital participation from remote locations.
