The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Monday carried out an enforcement drive against illegal dairies and stray cattle in the Munak Canal area, demolishing unauthorised structures and catching 30 stray cattle, officials said.
The joint operation was conducted by the Veterinary Services Department of the Keshavpuram Zone with support from the Maintenance Department and JCB machinery.
According to an official statement, the drive covered Munak Canal, Rampura Industrial Area, Nimri Colony, Ashok Vihar, Tri Nagar, and Shanti Nagar.
Teams from the Veterinary Services Departments of Rohini, Keshavpuram, Narela, Civil Lines, Green Park, and Shahdara North zones also participated in the campaign.
An MCD official said the action was aimed at addressing civic concerns arising from illegal dairies and stray cattle movement in residential and industrial areas.
''Illegal dairies not only create unhygienic conditions but also lead to the problem of stray cattle on roads, affecting traffic movement and public safety,'' the official said.
