Rajasthan faced an intense dust storm on Saturday, significantly impacting several districts, including Churu, Bikaner, and Jaipur. The storm, caused by an active western disturbance, brought visibility to zero, prompting motorists to navigate with headlights during daylight hours.
However, rain quickly followed the storm, providing relief from oppressive heat across Rajasthan and other northern states. Showers curtailed temperatures in Punjab and Haryana, while Delhi prepared for thunderstorms, lightning, and potential hail.
The rainfall, measured from 3mm to 18mm in Uttar Pradesh, led to a 6-degree temperature drop in places like Lucknow, despite the absence of rain there. Himachal Pradesh received moderate showers and hail, with warnings issued for further severe weather conditions.
