India Imposes Limitations on Diesel Purchases
India has imposed restrictions on institutional and commercial buyers from purchasing motor spirit and high-speed diesel at retail outlets, dictating them to source from their consumer pumps. Retail dealers are instructed not to sell more than 200 liters of high-speed diesel per day to a customer without resale.
India has enforced a new directive restricting institutional and commercial buyers from acquiring motor spirit and high-speed diesel at retail stations. Instead, these customers must fulfill their fuel needs through their consumer pumps, according to a notification released on Thursday.
The restrictions are imposed for an initial period of 90 days, subject to change if another order is issued. This step aims to regulate diesel distribution and maintain control over fuel sales to larger consumers.
Furthermore, retail dealers are instructed not to sell more than 200 liters of high-speed diesel to a single customer or vehicle each day, preventing any resale of the purchased diesel. The directive is part of broader efforts to streamline fuel consumption and distribution in the country.
