Ghana gets the honour to organize second edition of Climate Chance Summit Africa in October this year. The summit will bring together non-state actors in the climate sector at one podium to outline a comprehensive climate change policy for the African continent.

The Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019 is slated to take place in Ghana's capital Accra between October 16 and 18 at the International Conference Centre in association with the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana. It is expected to bring together representatives of over 1,000 non-state players working in the climate change space.

Climate Change Summit Africa 2019 has major three objectives. According to Afrik21, the foremost is to stimulate the operational mobilisation of non-state actors, who must be the catalysts for the implementation of the commitments made by States at COP21. The second one is to "consolidate the dynamics of cooperation between non-state actors who are still working in a too isolated manner". Whereas, the last objective of this meet is aimed to "bring together non-state actors with an international influence with actors more focused on their local issues in Africa to enable an appropriate articulation between local issues and global challenges".

On the other hand, other related topics will be discussed such as sustainable development of African cities, sustainable mobility and transport in Africa, renewable energies and energy efficiency in Africa and adaptation and water in Africa etc. The first Climate Change Summit Africa 2018 in Ivory Coast's Abidjan accumulated around 600 participants from 41 countries including 27 African nations.
