Brest: Moderate earthquake hits Northwestern France

An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 has hit Northwestern France, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). Felt reports were received from Brest. The epicenter of the quake was located 30 km southeast of Brest at a depth of 10 km. The estimated population in the area where the earthquake was felt is 220,000, according to EMSC.
In a separate incident, an earthquake of 3.0 magnitude hit 21 km east of Quimper on France.
No damage has been reported yet.
