Manning family cancels annual passing academy

The 2020 Manning Passing Academy was canceled Tuesday due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The elite camp for high school quarterbacks is held each year by former NFL quarterbacks Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning on the campus of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. This year would have marked the event's 25th anniversary.

"There are times during a ballgame when you have to call an audible, and I'm disappointed to say that we are going to have to call one now and postpone this year's camp to comply with the next stage of (health and safety) guidelines," Archie Manning wrote in a statement. Current policies in Louisiana prohibit sleepover camps until further notice.

The academy typically involves more than 1,200 campers and 200 coaches, trainers, and support staff. Those who already paid for the 2020 camp will have their registration rolled over to 2021 (June 24-27). Anyone who cannot attend in 2021 can request a refund.
