Report: Texans' Clowney out vs. Titans

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was ruled out for the Houston Texans game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Clowney was questionable with elbow and back injuries and was limited in practice this week.

The Week 1 against the Patriots, but was limited to three tackles.

Clowney was not involved in on-field workouts throughout the offseason and missed much of the preseason and training camp as he recovered from a knee injury.

Clowney is in a contract year and is reportedly looking to join the Rams' Aaron Donald and the Bears' Khalil Mack among the highest-paid players in the NFL after his draft class peers signed mega-deals in recent weeks.

The No. 1 overall pick in 2014, Clowney has 20 sacks and 160 tackles in 48 career games (42 starts).

He appeared in all 16 games for the first time last season and finished with 8.5 sacks, 59 tackles and had one touchdown on a fumble recovery.
