Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams is inactive for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, according to an NFL Network report.
Williams, who missed Friday's practice for personal reasons, has been ineffective this season with just two catches for 18 yards as the Cowboys have started the season 1-2 and struggling on offence.
A third-round pick in 2013, Williams has spent his entire career in Dallas, making 232 catches for 3,377 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Brice Butler, who was signed as it was revealed Williams was facing a possible suspension for an offseason DUI arrest, was activated for the first time this season and is expected to have a significant presence in the offence.
Butler, 28, has played sporadically since being taken in the seventh round by the Oakland Raiders in 2013. He has 73 catches for 1,177 and eight touchdowns in 61 career games (seven starts).
Three games into the season, the Cowboys are next to last in the NFL in scoring at 13.7 points per game.
