Bhuvi injured himself at the beginning of England tour. Whether the BCCI takes a decision on this or not is to be seen. Until then, fingers crossed.

The Indian cricket team is all set to create history when they travel Down Under to play the Kangaroos in a two-month long tour where they will play 3 T20Is, 4 Tests, and 3 ODIs. If things continue as per plan, then Team India will be playing two matches simultaneously in two different venues. According to a report by The Mumbai Mirror, India is scheduled to play two warm-up matches before the Test series begins. In order to play the practice games, some players might have to miss the T20I series.

As per the reports, the three T20Is will be played on November 21, 23 and 25. While the Test series begins on December 6. Owing to the jammed schedule, the practice matches, in all likeliness will overlap with the T20I series. In this scenario, players who turn up in all three formats might skip the T20Is or vice-versa.

A similar sort of scene was seen in 2017 when the Australian Test team was in India for the four-match series while their T20I team hosted Sri Lanka. The T20I series ended on February 22 in Australia, while Test series kicked off next day in India. In a historic move, Cricket Australia had different squads for the two format altogether.

However, captain Virat Kohli might play all the international fixtures, whereas, Bhuvneshwar Kumar might play the practice matches as he has missed playing red-ball cricket for long by now. Bhuvi injured himself at the beginning of England tour. Whether the BCCI takes a decision on this or not is to be seen. Until then, fingers crossed.

This jammed kind of schedule happened with Cricket Australia (CA) last year when the Baggy Greens and whites (Test team) was in India for the 4-Test series while the T20I team was hosting Sri Lanka. As it happened, the T20I series ended on February 22 in Australia, and the Test series started the very next day in India. CA created history by declaring two different squads for two different formats at the same time.

According to the sources, both the Indian teams will be assisted by two different support staff. On one side, the warm-up games might be looked after by India-A and U-19 coaching staff under Rahul Dravid. Whereas, Ravi Shastri and co. will look after the national team in the 3 T20I series.
