Twins third baseman Sano accused of injuring officer with car

Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano allegedly ran his car over a police officer in his native Dominican Republic on Sunday morning and was arrested, according to multiple reports. The Spanish-language El Nuevo Diario reported that the police officer sustained a broken left leg in the incident and was hospitalized. It occurred when the officer tried to stop Sano at a checkpoint, but Sano continued on and caused the injury, according to the report.

Elliott pulls in front late for Dover win

Chase Elliott took the lead by restarting on old tires after a caution flag waved with eight laps to go, held it through an overtime restart and went on to win the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Dover (Del.) International Raceway. Seattle's Kendricks fighting indefinite suspension

Mychal Kendricks and the NFL Players Association are fighting the indefinite suspension handed down by the NFL over the linebacker's admitted involvement in insider training, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday. In August, federal authorities charged Kendricks with the crime, alleging he had made $1.2 million illegally through tips from an acquaintance. After the news of his involvement broke, he was released by the Cleveland Browns, whom he signed with in the offseason.
