Kyle Brodziak scored his first two goals of the season, and the visiting Edmonton Oilers ended the Detroit Red Wings' three-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory on Saturday.

Brodziak had not recorded a point this season or scored since March 10 of last season prior to Saturday's outburst.

Drake Caggiula and Alex Chiasson also scored for Edmonton while Connor McDavid and Jujhar Khaira supplied two assists apiece. Mikko Koskinen made 23 saves.

Jacob De La Rose, Danny DeKeyser and Tyler Bertuzzi scored for the Red Wings while Gustav Nyquist contributed two assists. Jonathan Bernier stopped 38 shots.

The first period ended in a 1-all tie.

The Oilers scored just 12 seconds into the game. McDavid beat Wings centre Dylan Larkin to the puck behind Detroit's goal and slid a pass toward the right circle to Caggiula, who fired in his fifth goal this season.

De La Rose scored his first goal as a Red Wing when Nyquist backhanded a pass from behind the net that he one-timed past Koskinen. De La Rose was claimed off waivers from Montreal on Oct. 17.

The Oilers controlled the second period and came away with a 3-2 advantage.

Edmonton took the lead 1:15 into the second during a delayed penalty. Adam Larsson slid a circle-to-circle pass to Chiasson, who ripped a slapshot past Bernier.

The Oilers increased their lead to 3-1 later in the period. Khaira picked up a loose puck deep in the Detroit zone and fed it to Brodziak, who scored from the high slot.

The Red Wings caught a big break in the final minute of the period. DeKeyser took a shot from the point that bounced off the boards, struck Koskinen's skate and caromed into the net.

Edmonton built a two-goal lead midway through the third. Brodziak won a faceoff in the Detroit zone, took a pass from Khaira and beat Bernier high on the short side to make it 4-2.

After Bernier vacated the net, Bertuzzi whacked in a rebound to make it a one-goal game with 1:26 left.
