Tennis: Croatia captain Krajan hails his Davis Cup dream team
Croatia captain Zeljko Krajan hailed his "dream team" after Marin Cilic sealed a second Davis Cup title for the Balkan nation by beating France's Lucas Pouille on Sunday. Just as he was on Friday against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the 30-year-old world number seven was in commanding form to crush Pouille 7-6(3) 6-3 6-3 to give the Croats a winning 3-1 lead.
Copa Libertadores final postponed again following bus attack
The rescheduled second leg of the Copa Libertadores soccer final between River Plate and Boca Juniors was postponed again on Sunday hours before it was due to start, after Boca complained the match could not be played under fair conditions. The decisive leg had been set to be played on Saturday but was suspended until Sunday after Boca players were injured when their bus was attacked by River fans outside their Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires.
Report: Redskins quarterback Smith's playing future uncertain
The Washington Redskins remain optimistic that quarterback Alex Smith will return from the severe leg injury he suffered last week, but doctors reportedly have a wait-and-see approach with the 34-year-old's playing future. Smith suffered a compound fracture and a spiral fracture in his right leg in a loss to the Houston Texans. Coach Jay Gruden said last Monday that the spiral fracture -- a break in a long bone caused by a rotational force -- was discovered during Sunday's surgery, which he said "went well."
College football notebook: Helton keeps job at USC

Scuffle breaks out after Aggies' upset of LSU
Former LSU and NFL running back Kevin Faulk, now the director of player development for the Tigers, was photographed in a scuffle with an unidentified man credentialed by Texas A&M in the moments after the Aggies' stunning 74-72, seven-overtime upset early Sunday morning in College Station, Texas. The man seen scuffling with Faulk previously had punched LSU special assistant Steve Kragthorpe in the chest, an LSU spokesman told ESPN. Kragthorpe, 53, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2011 and has a pacemaker.
49ers release LB Foster after latest domestic violence arrest
San Francisco linebacker Reuben Foster was released by the 49ers on Sunday morning, hours after he was arrested in Tampa, Fla., on suspicion of domestic-violence battery. General manager John Lynch told reporters Sunday morning that he and head coach Kyle Shanahan were disappointed in Foster, who was arrested Saturday night on domestic violence charges.
NFL notebook: Ramsey credits QB he trash-talked
The "trash" quarterback topped the trash-talker on Sunday as Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills earned a 24-21 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and cornerback Jalen Ramsey in Orchard Park, N.Y. Ramsey made headlines last summer when he criticized the Bills' selection of Allen with the No. 7 overall pick in the draft, telling GQ magazine, "I think Allen is trash. I don't care what nobody say. He's trash. ... We play them this year, and I'm excited as hell. I hope he's their starting quarterback."
