Top-seeded Swiatek arrived at the final boasting a 20-match winning streak at the French Open, facing off against 12th-seeded Paolini. The 23-year-old Polish player is vying for her third consecutive title in Paris and her fifth Grand Slam trophy overall.

Italy's Paolini, at 28, is making her major final debut. Previously, she had never advanced beyond the second round at any of the four major tennis tournaments until the Australian Open in January. She is also set to compete in the French Open women's doubles final on Sunday.
