Bolivian teenager Moisés Paniagua, a promising midfielder, is set to miss the Copa América in the United States. The 16-year-old couldn't secure an entry visa due to lack of parental travel permission.
Paniagua, who plays for the local club Always Ready, was picked for U.S. friendlies against Ecuador and Colombia but remained grounded. The Bolivian Football Association confirmed the issue in a statement, without identifying the parent.
In February, Paniagua marked his name in Copa Libertadores history by becoming the second youngest scorer at 16 years and 188 days, clinching a victory against Sporting Cristal of Peru. Bolivia's first Copa América match is scheduled against the USA on June 23 in Arlington, Texas.
