Local golf star Vidhatri Urs, previously dominating the Indian Golf Union circuit as an amateur, makes her professional debut. Following her cousin Pranavi Urs, she joins the Women's Golf Association of India. The tour also features experienced players like Sneha Singh and Amandeep Drall, highlighting the competitive field.
Local golf sensation Vidhatri Urs, a standout on the Indian Golf Union amateur circuit, is set to make her professional debut in her hometown. Urs, 18, has claimed numerous titles, including the IGU's All India Amateurs, and now joins the ranks of young professionals commencing their challenging journey in the sport.
Having already tasted victory on the Women's Golf Association of India (WGAI) pro circuit with a 2023 win in Bengaluru, Vidhatri aims to follow in the footsteps of her cousin, Mysuru star Pranavi Urs, who plays on the Ladies European Tour. Vidhatri will debut alongside peers Geetika Ahuja and Anaggha Venkatesh.
The WGAI continues to attract new talent, including newcomers Chitrangada Singh, Gourabi Bhowmick, and Anvitha Narender, all notable from the amateur circuit. Veteran players like Sneha Singh, Amandeep Drall, and Gaurika Bishnoi enhance the competition. The resumed Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour's second leg features a strong lineup with Hitaashee Bakshi and Sneha Singh leading the Order of Merit.
