Philadelphia announced Monday that it activated wide receiver Mike Wallace from injured reserve and promoted cornerback Josh Hawkins from the practice squad ahead of the Eagles' matchup Sunday at Washington.
Wallace hasn't suited up since Sept. 16, when he fractured his fibula during a Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prior to signing with the Eagles this offseason, the 32-year-old had played 142 of a possible 144 games in his NFL career. Head coach Doug Pederson addressed Wallace's return during his press conference on Monday. "Mike Wallace is getting better, too. I will tell you that Mike will entertain some more individual reps Wednesday, Thursday, and see where he's at moving forward," said Pederson.
Wallace has three 1,000-yard seasons during his 10-year NFL career. He has 538 catches for 8,072 yards and 57 touchdowns with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2009-12), Miami Dolphins (2013-15), Baltimore Ravens (2016-17) and Eagles. The team also waived cornerbacks De'Vante Bausby and Chandon Sullivan to make room for Wallace and Hawkins.
