Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Deceuninck emerged victorious in Stage 13 of the Tour de France, a 165km flat route from Agen to Pau, triumphing over Wout Van Aert in a crash-filled sprint finish. This marks Philipsen's second stage win within four days.

Van Aert, from Visma-Lease a Bike, appeared destined for victory as he was expertly led out by teammate Christophe Laporte. However, Philipsen seized the opportune moment to attack, surpassing his Belgian compatriot, who also finished second in the previous day's Stage 12. Reflecting on his win, Philipsen, who secured four stages last year, expressed satisfaction despite some early challenges in the Tour.

Belgian sprinter Arnaud De Lie's hopes were dashed due to a crash in the final kilometre that saw multiple riders collide. Pascal Ackerman finished third, with Biniam Girmay taking fourth place. Tadej Pogacar retained the yellow jersey for UAE Team Emirates, maintaining a lead over Remco Evenepoel and Jonas Vingegaard. Pogacar anticipates the upcoming climbs in the Pyrenees, aiming to achieve the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France double.
