Australia's left-arm speedster Mitchell Starc opened up about his face-off against India skipper Rohit Sharma in their Super 8 clash during the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Australia's journey in the World Cup ended abruptly as they failed to progress past the Super Eight stage.

In a crucial match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's stunning performance, scoring 92 runs off 41 balls, derailed Australia's efforts. Starc conceded 29 runs in a single over, suffering the full brunt of Rohit's onslaught. Reflecting on the match, Starc praised Rohit's strategic use of St Lucia's conditions.

Speaking on the Willow Talk podcast, Starc admitted, "I had five bad balls and he hit them all for six." Despite taking Rohit's wicket, India's set a challenging target of 206 runs. Travis Head's 76 off 43 balls kept Australia in the chase, but Jasprit Bumrah's crucial breakthrough saw India triumph by 24 runs. Starc also acknowledged Australia's overall shortcomings and pivotal defeats to Afghanistan and India.
