Samson Shines as India Clinches Series Win Over Zimbabwe
Middle-order batter Sanju Samson scored 58 off 45 balls and seamer Mukesh Kumar secured a 4-22, leading India to a 42-run victory over Zimbabwe. India completed a 4-1 T20 series win, posting 167 for six and restricting Zimbabwe to 125. Key performances included Samson’s 58, Dube's 26, and Kumar's career-best figures.
Sanju Samson, the middle-order batter, delivered a crucial 58 off 45 balls while seamer Mukesh Kumar claimed a stellar 4-22, propelling India to a commanding 42-run victory over Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday. The win sealed a 4-1 triumph for India in their five-game T20 International series.
Electing to bat first, a youthful Indian side missing several regulars posted a solid 167 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Zimbabwe, in response, managed only 125, falling short by 42 runs. Despite a strong start, Zimbabwe’s innings lost steam after Dion Myers, their top scorer with 34 from 32 balls, was dismissed, sparking a collapse where they lost four wickets in quick succession.
Mukesh Kumar's impressive bowling at both the start and end of Zimbabwe's innings, along with Shivam Dube's 2-25, ensured India's comfortable series-clinching victory.
