Sukhjeet Singh, a resilient 28-year-old forward, has overcome a life-altering back injury that temporarily paralyzed his right leg to secure a spot in the Olympic-bound Indian men’s hockey squad. Determined to shine at the Games starting July 26, he sees this as the pinnacle of his athletic career.

Despite debuting in 2022, Singh's journey has been anything but smooth. Inspired early on by his father Ajit Singh, a former hockey player, Sukhjeet faced a major setback in 2018 when a freak injury left him bedridden for months. His family's unwavering support helped him fight through his toughest times.

Since his comeback, Singh has scored 20 goals in 70 matches, significantly contributing to India's success in major tournaments like the FIH Hockey World Cup and Asian Games. With his eyes set on the Paris Olympics, he is determined to give his best performance to help his team achieve top honors.
