Jaden Philogene, 22, has made his return to Aston Villa, the Premier League club confirmed on Friday. Philogene had previously spent three years at Villa's academy and made his senior debut in 2021. After loan spells at Stoke City and Cardiff City, he moved permanently to Hull City, where he netted 12 goals in 32 appearances in the English Championship.

The young forward also represented England U21s last year, scoring three goals in four matches. 'It feels amazing; it’s like I’m back at home,' Philogene shared with Villa's official website. 'When I was a little boy, I wanted to play in the Champions League. I’ve always thought I want to be there one day, and here I am.'

Aston Villa, who finished fourth in the Premier League last season, will compete in the Champions League for the first time since the 1982-83 season. Their league campaign kicks off against West Ham United on August 17.
