The Special Olympics Bharat (SO Bharat) football team clinched victory at the Gothia Cup in Sweden. The team, supported by SKF India, remained unbeaten in all matches, winning the final against SO Denmark in a thrilling showdown. A grand welcome ceremony was held upon their return to India.

The Special Olympics Bharat (SO Bharat) football team emerged as champions at the Gothia Cup in Gottenburg, Sweden, following an impressive performance. The tournament, held from July 14 to 18, saw the Indian team, supported by SKF India, remain unbeaten.
Competing against strong contingents including Parasport Denmark 2, Special Olympics Finland Mixed, Special Olympics Hong Kong, and Special Olympics Germany 1, the SO Bharat team showcased exceptional skill. They defeated SO Finland 3-0, followed by a 6-0 win over SO Germany, a 6-0 victory against Hong Kong, and a 3-1 win over SO Denmark to reach the final.
In the nail-biting final match, SO Bharat triumphed over SO Denmark 4-3. Muhammad Shaheer from Kerala stood out, scoring seven goals, the highest by any Indian player. The team's achievement was celebrated at a grand ceremony attended by Raksha Khadse, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, among other dignitaries.
