In a remarkable showcase of skill and determination, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh propelled India to a mammoth 201 for five in their Women's Asia Cup match against the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. This marked India's first T20I total exceeding 200.
Harmanpreet scored 66 off 47 balls, while Richa remained unbeaten with 64 off 29 balls. Their pivotal 75-run partnership for the fifth wicket came after India faced early challenges at 52 for three. Despite UAE's efforts with Kavisha Egodage claiming two wickets for 36 runs, India's batting prowess prevailed.
Shafali Verma also contributed with a quick-fire 37 off 18 balls. Richa's five consecutive boundaries in the final over sealed India's imposing total, setting a new benchmark in Women's T20I cricket.
