Ajinkya Naik Elected Youngest President of Mumbai Cricket Association
Ajinkya Naik triumphed over Sanjay Naik by 107 votes to become the youngest president of the Mumbai Cricket Association. Supported by Sharad Pawar, Ajinkya secured 221 votes to Sanjay's 114. Ajinkya aims to continue the legacy of former MCA president Amol Kale, who passed away recently.
Ajinkya Naik overwhelmed his opponent Sanjay Naik by a remarkable 107 votes to become the new president of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday. Ajinkya, formerly the MCA's secretary, achieved a landslide victory with a 221-114 margin.
Backed by veteran politician and former BCCI and ICC president Sharad Pawar, Ajinkya is now the youngest president in MCA's history. The election was held following the sudden demise of former president Amol Kale, who passed away in New York last month.
Ajinkya attributed his win to the support of Maidan club secretaries and vowed to uphold Kale's legacy. BJP leader Ashish Shelar, who supported Sanjay Naik, promised to work together for the betterment of Mumbai cricket.
