Pacer Dilshan Madushanka has been named as the replacement for the injured Nuwan Thushara for Sri Lanka's home white-ball series against India, commencing on July 27. Thushara has been ruled out due to a broken finger, ESPNcricinfo reports.
Thushara sustained the injury on his left hand during training. Sri Lanka's team manager, Mahinda Halangoda, confirmed the incident, stating that the injury affected Thushara's non-bowling hand. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the replacement on social media.
"Nuwan Thushara will not participate in the T20I series due to a thumb fracture sustained during practice. Dilshan Madushanka will replace him," SLC announced. This is the second setback for Sri Lanka's pace attack as Dushmantha Chameera is also out due to bronchitis and a respiratory infection. Asitha Fernando will replace Chameera.
Sri Lanka announced their T20I squad for the series against India. The tour will begin with a three-match T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series at venues including Pallekele International Stadium and R Premadasa Stadium.
